Update: COVID-19 Restrictions
Monday, November 16, 2020
"Starting Monday, Nov. 16, Johnson County residents will be under new countywide pandemic restrictions that include an extension of mask requirements, physical distancing guidelines and earlier closing hours for bars and restaurants." [Source]
Above is the updated COVID-19 plan for the Johnson County area. Windmill Sewing Center will remain open during normal business hours. We are continuing our COVID-19 protocol, including wearing masks, sanitizing our stores, limiting capacity, and practicing social distancing.
We are still offering curbside pick up, online orders, etc. You can request these accommodations when ordering on our website, or you can also give us a call at (913) 341-6400 for BERNINA or (913) 322-6443 for Brother to place an order. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or to email windmillsewing@gmail.com.
We want all of our customers to feel safe when shopping in our stores, so we ask that if you do come in, you must wear a mask and adhere to CDC guidelines.
It has been a long road and there is still further to go, but we are with you every step of the way. Our community is strong and we will get through this together!

Update: Windmill Sewing Center will open next week with limited hours
Tuesday, May 5, 2020
Windmill Sewing Center will open next week with normal hours. We will be following CDC guidelines and doing everything we can to keep our store as safe as possible. No more than 10 people will be allowed in the store at any given time, we will be cleaning the store as much as possible, and we will continue to do curbside pick-up and shipping of orders for those who don't feel comfortable coming in-store yet.
It is extremely important that those who do decide to shop in-store with us adhere to CDC social distancing guidelines.
We are also working on getting clubs back up and running, so please stay tuned and keep an eye out for more information on that. Thank you to everyone for your continued support. We are excited to finally be able to see you all back in the store again.

A note regarding COVID-19
First, we hope you and your families are staying safe, practicing social distancing, and keeping up-to-date on what's going on in our world right now.
Your health and safety is our top priority, so we're doing everything we can to keep you safe and keep you sewing. This is a difficult time for everyone, but we want to emphasize that we will get through this together.
A few updates:
- As of now, Windmill Sewing Center will maintain normal hours. However, we are discussing different options for adjusting to a new way of shopping as this situation changes, as it inevitably will.
- Classes, clubs and other gatherings will be limited to the number of approved gathering sizes. We will send out details soon.
- We will continue to host our weekly live show Make It Sew on Tuesday evenings. You can join us live from 6 - 7 pm on the Quilters HQ Facebook page. We also may add some more live streams throughout the next several weeks. If you do need something to watch, all previous episodes of Make It Sew can be found on that page.
In store, we're taking steps to help keep you safe and healthy. Small things like wiping down each machine after it's used, limiting points of contact at the register, using hand sanitizer, and just increasing our cleaning schedule overall help work together to keep you safe as you shop in our store.
We know many people are stuck at home, so we are doing whatever we can to help you continue working on your projects and keeping busy. Whether that means finding new ways to get products to you, putting together projects for you, having sales that allow you to stock up on the materials you need, and more.
If you feel unsafe coming into the store, give us a call and we will be happy to gather your items for you. You can pay over the phone and pick them up curbside if you'd like. If that doesn't work, you can always order online or call in and order and we can ship your items to you.
Throughout this difficult situation, know that all of us at Windmill Sewing Center are here for you. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please reach out to us. You can always send an email to windmillsewing@gmail.com or give us a call at (913) 322-6443 for our Brother store or (913) 341-6400 for our Bernina store.

We are here for you and we will get through this together.
